It's all in the metaphor and presentation.

On Dasher

Monday, December 31st, 2007

One of the blogs I read is called "Compete on Usability". I love this title. In a software development company, focusing on usability as a competitive advantage is very smart. Usability is so often overlooked and yet adds tremendous value. It doesn't matter how many cool things your software product can do, if no one can use it. To me this is obvious and that's why usability has been the focus of my career.

Two cool articles have popped up recently on that blog. The first gives me warm fuzzies about the outlook of my career. The second shows a preview of a truly innovative interface called Dasher (video below). I think we'll be using something like Dasher for text messaging and text input on game consoles in the near future.
